About the event

Due to multiple storms and high tides which have, for the forseeable future, made the beach inaccessible for our Unimog. We have created a replacement two hour guided walk onto the beach ( locally known as the washover)

Highlights of the Walk

Military History: Discover the fascinating remnants of Spurn's wartime past, including its role in defending the nation.

Coastal Erosion: Learn about the forces shaping this unique landscape and the challenges they present.

Warren Cottage: Delve into the history of this iconic landmark and its ties to Spurn’s past.

Nature & Conservation: Explore the washover and uncover the vital work of the Yorkshire Wildlife Trust, from protecting rare wildlife to preserving Spurn's delicate ecosystem.

History of Spurn Point: Journey through time and understand what makes this ever-changing spit of land so special.

Shoreline Search: Stepping onto the sands and shingles of the washover, we'll discover what the last high tide has left for us to find, and play a game of beach bingo.

Led by a qualified guide passionate about Spurn’s unique story, this walk is perfect for history buffs, nature lovers, and curious explorers alike.

Please note, this event is not suitable for children under 4 years of age. Children must be supervised by an adult throughout the event.

Please be aware that this event may be cancelled at short notice due to bad weather/wind.
