First light festive wildlife walk with breakfast
About the event
Wake up early and join our exclusive, guided winter wildlife walk at first light complete with a warming breakfast.
At a busy time of year when there’s an endless ‘to do’ list, parties and engagements a plenty, and long supermarket queues, enjoy some time out in the beautiful setting of Potteric Carr nature reserve. On this relaxing stroll, you’ll be encouraged to slow down and tune into nature’s pace. Your expert guide – Nature Reserve Officer Mark Roberts – will help you spot the sights and sounds of wintering wildlife as waders arrive and birds flit between the trees in search of an abundance of berries. As the countdown to Christmas begins, it will certainly be ‘seasons greetings’ at this special experience.
After your walk, return to the visitor centre for a hot sandwich and freshly brewed tea or coffee. Just let the café team know if you have any dietary requirements on arrival (Vegan and gluten-free options available).
Please dress for wintery weather including sturdy footwear. The hour-long walk will feature wooded, grassy and surfaced paths. Whilst on the level, the ground can be uneven in places and areas can get muddy during winter months.
Meet outside the Visitor Centre at 8am.
