About the event

Learn more about Britain's amazing bat species on a two hour walk with our helpful guides. You will learn how to use a bat detector and put this into action, becoming a bat detective. You will learn about the different frequencies bats use and how we are able to identify species through sound alone.

What to bring

What to bring/wear

Our event takes place outside so brace yourself for the Yorkshire weather! We'd recommend sturdy and waterproof footwear or wellies, and lots of layers!

While some torches will be provided with red light filters, you are able to bring your own. Torches with red light filters are preferred.

Toilets and catering

There are toilets (including an accessible toilet). The café at the Spurn Discovery Centre closes are 4pm, but the toilet facilities will still be open.

Joining us on the day

Please meet at our picnic benches in the Spurn Discovery Centre's outdoor auditorium.

Parking information

There is a ÂŁ5 parking charge, which helps us to maintain the centre and look after the reserve. There is free parking for Wildlife Trust members who display their up-to-date membership card on their car dashboard.
