Just as our natural world slows down for the winter, so do visitor numbers to Spurn Point national nature reserve and our Discovery Centre.
Spurn Point is wild and beautiful and is one of the most remote and exposed corners of Yorkshire. For those who layer up and make the journey, they are rewarded with big skies, incredible wildlife and long, bracing walks, but overall, fewer people decide to visit us at this dark and colder time of year.
As a charity, we need to carefully manage our increasing running costs during these quietest of times and ensure a warm welcome awaits on the days when most visitors are venturing out for a winter escape.
From Sunday 3rd November, Yorkshire Wildlife Trust’s Discovery Centre and café will therefore move to winter opening hours
- Monday 10:00 - 3:00
- Tuesday closed
- Wednesday closed
- Thursday 10:00 -3:00
- Friday 10:00 - 3:00
- Saturday 10:00 - 3:00
- Sunday 10:00 - 3:00
The nature reserve, car park and toilets on the ground floor of the Discovery Centre will remain open on Tuesdays and Wednesdays (from 10am until 4pm).
