About the event

There is no better way to experience Spurn's military past than aboard a specially adapted ex-military, 4x4 ‘Unimog’ truck.

During your tour you'll hear tales of the peninsula’s fascinating military history, expertly told by our knowledgeable and friendly guides.

Spurn safaris are suitable for ages 4+ as children need to be able to sit independently and hold-on when travelling on the Unimog.

Spurn Military Safaris do not include a visit to Spurn Lighthouse.

What to bring

Dress for the weather and wear sturdy footwear. Spurn can be quite exposed, so bring lots of layers. You should have a good head for heights to go up the lighthouse.

Please give yourself plenty of time to walk along the road from the car park or Spurn Discovery Centre to the gate, where the Spurn Safari is parked (approx. 300 metres, left out of the main car park).

Please arrive at the Spurn Safari vehicle 15 minutes before the tour is scheduled to leave. The tour leader will meet you at the vehicle and brief you on safety during the tour.

Please visit the Spurn Discovery Centre page to read about Yorkshire Wildlife Trust's Covid-19 measures in response to the latest government guidance.
